The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacraments of Penance and First Eucharist are pre-requisites for Confirmation. Children are required to be in year 6 or above to receive this sacrament.

The Parish recognises parents as the first educators of their children in faith and aims to
support them with a program to help children understand and prepare for the reception of
the Sacrament of Confirmation conducted by the Bishop. A faith formation evening for parents will also be held and it is expected that at least one parent attends.

The preparation program is held on Mondays from 4-5pm in the Parish Church during Term
2 and the Sacrament is usually held on a weekend in early August.

A Workshop Day is held on a weekday, in conjunction with Clairvaux Catholic School, where
students pray, play, prepare, and meet the Bishop who will be confirming them.

Children must attend one Mass of Commitment held over two weekends prior to being
Confirmed.

An enrolment form and a letter detailing the program will be forwarded to interested
families via email, with a fee payable on enrolment. Enrolments will be closed in March
prior to the program.

Children are required to wear a white stole similar to their baptism stole for the Sacraments.
Please see separate information on stoles.
