Mens Choir
St Bernard's Men's Choir

The St Bernard's Men's Choir started in 2007 with about a dozen men. We are led by two talented ladies who try to get the best out of us.
We usually sing on the first Sunday of each month and practise for an hour the Sunday prior at 5 PM in the church.

We're a bunch of blokes with mixed ability who enjoy singing. Most of us are not strong enough to sing on our own, but together we get away with it, or at least we have so far. The congregation seems to appreciate our efforts and importantly to us, supports us by joining in. This is probably due to our lower pitch and also there's something about 12 blokes belting out a hymn that encourages joining in. We're keen for new singers, so come along and listen, and join us if you're able. We'll find a spot for you and you don't have to attend every sing or practice, there's enough of us (16 at the moment) to share the load.

Annual Remembrance Mass

In the weeks leading up to Christmas an annual Remembrance Mass is held at St Bernard’s for families who have experienced the death of a loved one during the year. We gather to support those who are spending their first Christmas without their loved one.

Many parishioners attend and all are invited to bring along a flower to place on the large cross. A gathering is held in the Café afterwards provided by the Sunday Café Team.

On the first anniversary of death, we remember each person during the weekend Masses and a Parish representative posts a card with a message of support to each bereaved family.
